MVR Evaporators Working Principle For Industrial Wastewater Treatment


MVR evaporators operate on a heat pump principle. The evaporated water vapor is recompressed with low-speed centrifugal fan or compressor which increases the saturation temperature of the vapor.


After the fan, vapor can be used as heating steam in the same unit. The recompressed vapor condenses and releases its latent heat through the heat transfer surface for further evaporation of the liquor or effluent.


MVR Evaporators are one of the most effective technology for the treatment of industrial wastewaters. In fact, evaporation can effectively reduce the following parameters:


  • Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) - Measure of the amount of oxygen that is needed to oxidize soluble and particulate organic matter in water;

  • Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) - Biological method used for the measurement of the total amount of dissolved oxygen (DO) used by microbes in the biological process of metabolizing organic molecules present in water;

  • Total Suspended Solids (TSS) - Suspended particles in water that are not dissolved;
